Starflight: The Plane That Couldn’t Land (1983)

Premise: A hypersonic passenger jet accidentally goes into space.

I saw a few minutes of this movie when I was a child and was fascinated, but then my father changed the channel.

That clip was AWESOME, just about the most 1983 thing I've ever seen. Matt Huston meets an alien, this plane-in-space TV movie, and Mr. Roarke! Woot!

What a cast this movie has! It's a perfect storm of beloved has-beens. (Well, and Kirk Cameron.) The plot sounds a lot like that Twilight Zone episode where they fly through a cloud or something and then can never land. The one where they fly past stop-motion dinosaurs and stuff.

Someday when it’s been a few years since I’ve watched Airport ’79: The Concorde I’ll watch this with that on a double-bill (if I have Starflight that is).

I think I saw that one when I was a kid. I have no idea what happened though
